2011 road and cx

2011 SuperSix Hi-Mod in SRAM Red.

By now you might pretty much know about them but here are a few from the Cannondale 2011 road and cyclocross range.

2011 SuperSix Team.

The SuperSix mostly gets new paint jobs but the claimed weight is now 890gr so maybe just a twist of the carbon layup. After spending two weeks on mine (I still haven't posted about my trip haven't I?), not changing it much is a good thing... There are a few new Mavic wheels although they are mostly just new graphics. The Ksyriums SR on the Di2 model are basically a Ksyrium SL front wheel matched with a R-SYS rear wheel. Interestingly, the tires on most SuperSix models are new Schwalbe Ultremo ZX...

2011 SuperSix Hi-Mod with Shimano Di2.

2011 SuperSix Hi-Mod with Dura-Ace.

2011 CAAD 10 Dura-Ace in black anodized.

The CAAD 10 drops 200 grams from the CAAD 9, gets a tapered steerer and some nice tube shaping to make a stiffer front end, BB area and seat/top/seatstays area. It also now features S.A.V.E. shaping in the chainstays, a braze-on front derailleur mount (needed with the new wide ovalized low section of the seat tube). The new fork is pretty light but also curves further forward with the dropouts almost behind to keep the geometry as is. The goal is to give a bit of vertical comfort but keep the lateral stiffness and the steerer/crown area as stiff as possible. The best thing? Price should stay close to the already very nicely priced CAAD 9. The black one pictured doesn't have any decals, it's anodized with the logos worked in the metal itself, very nice.

2011 Synapse Carbon with Shimano 105.

The Synapse is still there for the people who are more into riding just for the pleasure but are not doing each rides like a race... or the preparation for a race.

2011 SuperX.

The cross bikes get a massive update with the introduction of the SuperX. A lot of the features of the Flash Carbon mountain bike ended up here to make it very stiff, very light but not bone-jarring. The new fork has a tapered steerer, the frame weighs just above 1kg and like some other Cannondale carbon frames, feature the super bullet proof military carbon for an impact resistance higher than metal frames.

2011 CAADX obviously has an alloy frame.

They also have a CAADX cross line in alloy to get a race worthy cross bike at a lower price point. It's pretty much an updated CX9 with hourglass seatstays and asymetric chainstays...
