Here we go

Riders are pre-riding the Dalby Forest World Cup course now but for a lot of them, it wasn't easy. Some of the world's best mountain bikers raced with more stress and uncertainty to get to the first round of the World Cup than they will feel for the race itself. With air traffic being stopped and disrupted by volcano spit, many racers faced a challenging trip to try to get to the Dalby UK venue on time for the race.

It looks like most big players will be there though. The Cannondale Factory team used planes, trains, boats and even their bikes to get from Sea Otter to Dalby and got there yesterday. The Merida team is there too, driving with their sponsored VW across Europe. Absalon is there I think... Kabush? Last news was not conclusive but I would be surprised if he doesn't make it, he did quite a trip to race in New Zealand one day and in the US the next day two seasons ago...

The most important thing is that Rabobank is there with Emil Lindgren. :)

Who do think will win this years first World Cup race?

It's hard to say who's good and who's not right now. Burry Stander seemed strong in Sea Otter but Nino Schurter, Julien Absalon, Florian Vogel and Ralph Naef are probably ready to be on the podium. I'd like to see Fontana up there too, I like how he rides, seems to enjoy himself... and being Canadian, I hope Geoff Kabush has a great race but I think he's far from being 100% so early in the season, he'll aim to peak for the Worlds that are in Canada this year.

So my guess for the podium:
1. Naef
2. Absalon
3. Schurter

But they're just wild guesses, I don't even know what the course is like, if it's technical or not, long climbs or short punchy climbs, rocky or not...

any word on where you can watch it?

Freecaster.tv has the exclusive rights to broadcast it, although I think it might not be free this year.

You guys forgot to mention that jeremiah Bishop is on The CFR now! Watch as he will be playing a leader role very soon, over Roel Paulissen!
Cheers!

Jeremiah and Tinker too but, both are not racing World Cups... They're both great racers, Tinker is a legend on wheels but on the World Stage, Roel, Marco and Manuel are on another level.
