Milan - San Remo

One of the longest and most glamorous race of the calendar, the classic Milan - San Remo is tomorrow... Who's your pick?

I'd like to see Daniele Bennati win. His form seems to be back and he will have insane amounts of horsepower on his team to support him and control the race, maybe enough to force a sprint finish. If it's a sprint, he has good chances as he's one of the few great sprinters that can deal with the climbs just fine... but so do Tom Boonen and Oscar Freire...

If it comes down to late attacks or breaks, I think Pozzato could take his second win. He's been strong lately and knows the race. But, Boonen could still be there in such a situation, so could Edvald Boasson-Hagen or some of Bennati's Liquigas helpers covering breaks like Nibali, Kreuziger, Pellizotti or even Quinziato.

Some usual suspects that don't seem in top form to win? Thor Hushovd, Fabian Cancellara, Mark Cavendish, Philippe Gilbert, they could all win but not this year, they will be better later in the season I think. Whoever wins, it's usually a good race with some attacks and aggressive riding, the forcasted bad weather could play a role too...

Flecha... he is an interesting rider and he doesn't mind bad weather. You may enjoy this video he just made of the Cipressa descent with a helmet cam.
