Picture of the day

Just as the cyclocross season climaxes to it's end, the road season started and the Tour Down Under and Tour de San Luis are already in the books.

The Tour Down Under always seems like an opening parade where teams show their new jerseys and the big names get some sun and base miles. Sprints, sprints and sprints, not my kind of race. What you have to know, Greipel won many stages and the overall, Lance was there I heard, Cadel Evans put his nose on the front to the joy of Australian fans and Valverde is still allowed to race.

The Tour San Luis had a more challenging parcours, climbs, a time trial but not as much big names but many locals. Still, Pippo Pozzato was catching some South American sun, Micheal Rasmussen was back racing a bike and Vincenzo Nibali won the overall.

Back to cyclocross, Niels Albert was either bluffing when he said he would likely lose it's rainbow skinsuit or his painkillers are pretty effective as he won today's last World Cup in a great battle with Zdeněk Štybar. By finishing second, Štybar was crowned the World Cup overall champion. Vos won the women's race and Van Den Brand is the World Cup overall champion.
