The death of 9 speed

We saw it coming, first with SRAM's fabulous XX. Shimano, having lots of catching up to do, was rumored to be working on their next XTR with the option of 2x10 too. Once the top groups have it, 10 speed drivetrains can only trickle down the lower groups.

Now details are emerging, the 2011 XTR group will have 2x10 and 3x10 options, parts they are aiming for XC, other for trail, they finally have a quick link for their chains but they didn't wait the typical year to include some features to XT as XT and even SLX will also get a revamp and 10 speed cassettes...

Something I personnally didn't here much about but was kind of expected, a new SRAM X.0 group with many XX features including 10 speed and a double crankset. I like black parts but the cassette looks weird with a black big cog, reminds me of the cheap bikes in big department stores...

That's right retro-grouches who are still complaining about the move from 8 to 9 speed, start making reserves now.
