The World's lightest Scalpel?

As far as I know, it is. Italian Cannondale aficionado Eliflap has gradually made the already light 08 Cannondale Team Scalpel lighter than even the ultra optimized and exclusive version the Cannondale-Vredestein team members will pilot at the Olympics (see Roel's bike slightly below).

While some will question some component choices as being not durable enough, we can't argue with the scale. He managed to get it under 8 kg.

Super light rotors, a Ti cassette and Ti bolts all around, the NoTubes Race 7000 Lefty wheelset, a Campagnolo Record front derailleur and other goodies add to the EightyAid optimized Lefty Speed SL, Hollowgram SL and DT Swiss carbon shock to make a full suspension to put to shame most hardtails.

His bike has been in constant evolution and one has to wonder just how much lighter can it get... Who knows, but one thing his sure, with the number of people posting and reading the bike's thread at mtbr.com, it's not done gathering interest.
