XCO World Cup starts

This weekend will be the first round of the 2008 Mountain Bike XCO World Cup in Houffalize, Belgium. Who's good? Who's not? It's always hard to predict in the first race to feature all the best mountain bikers in the world. Roel Paulissen, Jakob Fuglsang, Fredrik Kessiakoff and Christoph Sauser all looked to be in good shape at the Cape Epic race but we can expect 4 times World Champion Julien Absalon to be up there too as usual.

North Americans usually suffer a lot in World Cups but since it is an Olympic year and some are still chasing starting spots in Beijing, extra motivation might kick in. So far this year, Canadian cross-country and sideburns Champion Geoff Kabush has already shown that he is still by far the top racer in North America and will start the race in a relatively good position so we never know, maybe he can match or even do better than his 3rd place in a World Cup he scored last year.
